About me

I’m Fay Coulter, a fashion design student at ASU FIDM, part of Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. I graduate in December 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design.

My work starts with a story, usually a personal one. Weathered Prayers grew out of my journey with Buddhism and the prayer flags I saw at a stupa. My senior capstone, Très Bien Ensemble, began with my mother’s lullaby songbook. From there I paint, collage, sketch, dye fabric, and drape until the story becomes clothing.

I’ve always been inspired by the creativity and individuality of Free People, and hope to one day bring my own perspective to a brand that celebrates those same qualities.
